The Department of Assessments is responsible for maintaining fair and equitable assessments and filing the town’s assessment roll annually . The Assessor administers the assessment roll in accordance with the New York State Real Property Tax Law, and rules and regulations promulgated by the State Board of Real Property Services. Assessments are currently at 76% of the market value and the assessment roll is filed on July 1st. The assessment roll and property inventory data is maintained using the Real Property System (RPS) developed by the NYS Office of Real Property Tax Services.
